These sunset engagement photos taken at the Blue Ridge Parkway are some of my favorites. There are so many gorgeous locations to shoot in these mountains and for this session we adventured to Craggy. I am so excited to share these photos and to be able to capture Samantha & Adam’s wedding at Chestnut Ridge in May!
When and how did you meet?
We met like many couples do these days – online. I was online for all of about 10 minutes before I deleted my profile (I was not a fan of my 24 hr experience with online dating). Adam was fearful that we would never meet and that hispleasantries of “Hi, how are you”? was enough to turn me away. A few days later we met for real, by chance, at a local spot in downtown Orlando. I recognized his brother who I had known from undergrad at the University of Central Florida. We got to chatting and I was introduced to Adam, who says he immediately recognized me from my brief online dating experience and had been hoping we would meet in person. We have always felt our chance meeting was serendipitous. A month and a half later I moved but never forgot about Adam. 6 months later we began dating long distance and 4 years later, here we are. – Samantha
What are three things you love about Samantha?
I love her sense of humor. She can make me laugh when she’s intentionally being funny, but also just being her usual self. Just as important, she allows me to be 100% myself. Whether we’re with friends I’ve known since childhood or alone together, I am the most genuine version of myself I have ever been with Samantha. I love how she makes me feel on a daily basis. I love being with her because I love who I am when I’m with her. She has an innate ability to make those around her feel good and it’s intoxicating. Samantha is the most intuitive and giving person I know. She wears her heart on her sleeve and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to do right by it for the rest of my life.
What are three things you love about Adam?
I love Adam’s kind spirit, his intelligence and his sense of humor. His mom always says he was so sweet as a childand that is still evident as an adult. He truly loves me and makes an effort to make that known, every day. He isso smart. I am constantly impressed by his knowledge and ability to excel not only in the classroom but in realworld application. Since we have the same sense of humor, it makes for a lot of movie quotes and laughsthroughout the day. He always knows when to provide some much needed comedic relief from a stressful day atschool. I love that I can be myself around him and always feel comfortable and at ease with him, even duringvulnerable moments. I am so grateful that he came into my life and could not imagine my life without him.
Three of your favourite things to do together…
We enjoy sharing a meal together, watching The Office or UCF (our alma mater) football games together, andtraveling & exploring new places together. We love to spend time outdoors. We have recently taken up surfing together as a couple, Samantha has been teaching Adam how to play beach volleyball and Adam has been teaching Samantha to shoot a bow (he enjoys hunting).
