It’s my favorite time of year again – fall! If you’ve ever visited the North Carolina mountains in the fall, I bet one word comes to mind: incredible! The mountains are beautiful year-round, but they truly shine during the autumn months. So as you can imagine, shooting engagement sessions during this time of year is something I really look forward to. Kayla and Cameron’s waterfall engagement session was no exception!
Believe it or not, this waterfall engagement session was our backup plan!
The weather in the mountains can be fickle, no matter what time of year. If you have read any of my engagement session blog posts, you know how tricky planning sessions outdoors can be. I typically have a few backup plans ready, just in case our original plan doesn’t pan out. In the instance of Kayla and Cameron, we originally had planned to go somewhere with mountain views. However, due to some recent snow the Blue Ridge Parkway was closed which blocked our access to get to my favorite lookout locations.
But, as I mentioned earlier, I always have a backup plan! We changed gears and headed to Looking Glass Falls in Brevard, NC, and turned this into an amazing waterfall engagement session! It’s a little chilly when you walk down to the falls, even in the summer, so these two were troopers while we snapped some awesome photos! In addition to our time at the falls, we were able to find a sweet spot that offered some beautiful fall foliage bursting with colors! There was even a bridge over a small portion of the river, it was such a gem of a spot, I’m so glad we stumbled upon it. Kayla and Cameron, I had so much fun chasing waterfalls with you!
