The styled senior photoshoot that became a fair to remember! I am loving working with teens and high school seniors, and coming up with a senior photography session that is different than their school’s senior pictures. In collaboration with Mingle, a colorful, retro, vintage inspired senior session at the fair was our inspiration. You can check out our inspiration board here. The two gorgeous sisters that we worked with for the senior photography session were fabulous! They found outfits that matched what we were going for and had their hair and make-up professionally done. This is a must for your senior session, it makes a huge difference in your pictures looking polished and professional.
The perfect time of day for an outdoor session is two hours before sunset, which was our plan for the day of the shoot. However, mother nature had other plans, and the rain rolled in. Rescheduling was not an option so we went for it! Super cute clear umbrellas became part of the session and we looked for covered areas. The NC Mountain State Fair employees were very gracious and let us get some photographs on the carousel, rides, and games. A positive of the rain was that we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
Another benefit was that in waiting out the rain I found an open stall in the barn area of fair that was the perfect light for some moody black and white shots. I would have never have taken pictures in these areas if it had not been for the rain! It made for some variety and something a little different in their photo session, which is always a bonus.
