For Becca and Jacob’s sunrise engagement session, we decided on the famous Blue Ridge Parkway! This is one of the most popular places in NC for engagement photos. There is truly no other place on earth like it! It has beautiful views of mountain ridges for miles and miles, hidden trails, and waterfalls.
Because of the weather on the day of their session, there was not view we were originally hoping for. We got up the mountain and found ourselves engulfed in fog and clouds. In the NC Mountains, sometimes you never know what you’re going to get with the weather. Being at such a high altitude can be a little unpredictable, so we always learn to go with the flow! We found a pull off on the parkway with clouds and mountains. It made a beautiful dreamy backdrop for their engagement session. Since we started at sunrise, we got the chance to wait a little bit for the clouds to disappear!

We also made a stop at a waterfall, one of my favorite spots for engagement photos! Becca wore a long flowing green dress. It was gorgeous for portraits, and the emerald green color really popped against the water and rocks in the woods. Wearing a long flowy dress for your mountain engagement session is always a great idea.
