Any time I get the chance to shoot a wedding at Chestnut Ridge, it’s a great day! This venue is one of my favorites and one I’m at frequently. So today I’m so excited to share my friend’s wedding! What a beautiful day it was, I had the best time and was so honored to be a part of Carra and Caleb’s special day. Carra and I first met at Chestnut Ridge when I was photographing a family event for Carra’s sister, Taylor, who is also the owner of the venue. Carra introduced herself and asked about the possibility of mentoring with me during her senior year of college. From there, Carra spent her senior year working with me and continues to work with me – the rest is history.
Carra and Caleb have known each other for years and their families have been anticipating them dating for years, so when the day finally came that they were official, there were lots of smiles! I absolutely loved how close-knit their families are. Their church ministers married them at the ceremony location and it was a full house. These two are so loved – if you spend just a few minutes around them you’d understand why! After the ceremony, we took couples portraits during the golden hour light, and then we were off to the reception. The introductions of the wedding party and couple were such fun and full of energy! Next came dinner, which was a totally customizable taco bar, which of course was a huge hit! Lastly, the night ended with toasts from friends and families followed by dancing and finally a sparkler exit with fireworks.
