I had the wonderful opportunity to travel the short distance away to Weaverville to photograph a destination wedding for this couple. This venue is gorgeous surrounded by the rolling Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. On this 21-acre farm is a stable house which has been converted into a rustic barn hall. As you can see, it’s picturesque to say the least!
Julie and David’s Natural Love
Julie and David chose to keep their day elegant and simple, surrounded by the beauty of nature. My favorite part of working with this couple was how relaxed they were. It was clear that the biggest thing on both of these sweet soul’s minds were the vows they would soon be sharing. It’s so beautiful to see a quick smile flash across the face of a bride or groom on their wedding day. Even in the midst of a hectic (sometimes seemingly rushed) day…I can always tell when their mind wanders to the joys they are about to experience.
.I was so excited when the big moment finally came. Julie’s bouquet was filled with gorgeous roses. Creamy whites, soft pinks, light lavenders, and deep purples were gorgeous in their setting. It was the perfect compliment to her white lace off-the-shoulder dress. The vows took place outside in the fields under a stoic and grand oak tree. Surrounded by family and friends. A lone acoustic guitar played the accompaniment for the ceremony. There was something so striking about the simplicity and beauty of that lone guitar. It was such a stunning representation of the love these two share. The golden light bathed us as we all watched together as these two hearts became one.
Dancing the Night Away
The evening continued with a fun reception filled with plenty of dancing and endless laughter. The sparkler send off under strings of twinkling lights was the perfect finishing touch. There were more than a few wet eyes as we wished Julie and David well on their new life together.
