Summer Engagement Session | Waterfalls and Mountains

POSTED ON

August 28, 2019

This summer engagement session on the Blue Ridge Parkway was absolutely beautiful to capture and a joy to be a part of! Brittney and Alex came into town to work on planning their destination wedding at Homewood. It was a gorgeous evening and we were able to get a taste of both the mountains and the waterfalls.

Both currently living in Florida, Brittany and Alex want to give their guests a hint of what the Asheville area is like in their engagement photos. Brittney’s family has a cabin in Brevard that is near to her heart, and Alex grew up hiking through the Tennessee mountains. So the mountains are special to this couple which helped them decide to get married here in March of 2020!

Their story began when they first met in July of 2018, vía a networking lunch Brittney scheduled with one of the partners at Alex’s law firm.

I’m a financial advisor and he’s an estate planning attorney, so these lunches are a usual part of networking. His partner asked last minute if she could bring him, and although we all had a fabulous lunch we were in work mode and it wasn’t until his boss established that we were both single that the potential for dating was even on our radars. About a month later we connected, we started chatting and immediately clicked and had our first date a few days later and have been inseparable since!

Congratulations Brittney & Alex!

I’m Kathy – wedding photographer, mom of 1 daughter & 2 doodles, and avid sunset watcher. Once you’ve gotten to know a little more about me, it’ll be my turn to get to know you as too!! When I work with a couple, we usually end up feeling more like old friends by the time your wedding day arrives – which means a more relaxed, enjoyable wedding day experience for everyone. And when it comes to photo style, you’ll find your photos are vibrant and classic, in true-to-life color and timeless black and white. It’s my honor to serve joyful, authentic couples who want their wedding photos to be as timeless as their vows.
