The Greystone Inn at Lake Toxaway is a breathtakingly picturesque cottage that sits on the edge of a quaint mountain lake. It’s the perfect scene for a fairytale wedding! Naturally, I was so excited when this inquiry landed in my inbox. It said, “I came across your work on Instagram while looking at other photos that had been done at The Greystone Inn and loved it. I immediately forwarded it to my brother who is a wedding planner in New York and is helping me with all decisions and he agreed I should reach out to you immediately.” Wow, I was not only flattered but excited about the opportunity to work at one of my favorite places!
Nichole and Mack’s Greystone Inn Wedding
In contrast with the gorgeous weather in these photos, there was quite a bit of rain the week of the wedding. However, when their special day finally arrived, we had the most amazing weather. It wasn’t hot and there was an amazing light breeze. It truly was the perfect day for their intimate wedding at the Greystone Inn. This couple opted for a micro-wedding of about 20 guests. I felt incredibly privileged to be a part of something so cozy. One intentional detail the couple provided was to offer pashminas and heel covers. I love when couples think of their guests, it shows how much they care about their comfort. Another sentimental detail is that Nichole’s brother helped plan and design the wedding, and every detail was exquisite.
For the ceremony, Nichole and Mack said “I do” on a large dock overlooking Lake Toxaway surrounded by their loved ones. After the ceremony, I was able to capture a good amount of portraits of the family and the couple (a smaller guest count means more time for photos!), and I love how they turned out. We even had the chance to hop on the small boat located on site to get some amazing shots.
The Reception Details
Once photos were complete, guests headed into a private dining room inside the Greystone Inn. The room had french doors that opened to a lake view. You definitely cannot beat the scenery at this stunning venue. When the guests were seated, Nichole and Mack shared their first dance with the lake as their backdrop. It seemed like a scene out of a Hallmark movie! For dinner guests dined at a banquet table with beautiful place settings and stunning centerpieces. The tables were decorated with lush white florals with accents of green maple leaves. For a fun added touch of fall, there were berries, figs, and plums incorporated into the design – even on the cake! Even with it being a smaller event, the design was elegant and luxurious.
I loved everything about this wedding, and the couple was so wonderful. Nichole and Mack, I wish you the very best in life! Thank you for taking a chance on me.
