FATE INTERVENING

I’m so excited to share these downtown Asheville engagements. Sometimes when it comes to love, fate has to step in. Even though Allie and Mike attended the University of Dayton during the same time and had several mutual friends… they never met. It wasn’t till four years later on a trip with friends that they were both invited to a ski trip. Thanks to their friend named Amanda they were there for the weekend together. In those three days, they hit it off and started a new relationship.

LONG DISTANCE

Over the next four years, they dated long-distance. And I’m not talking about living in two different cities long distance, I’m talking about living across the world distance. Allie lived in many places during this time including Cincinnati, Madrid, Spain, Michigan, and Chicago (briefly) and then back to Cincinnati. Finally, they reached the time that they both moved to the same city of Cincinnati where they got to try out being together nearby for the first time. They officially decided that they want to spend their entire lives together in might pop the question. Allie was so excited to say yes to forever with him.

DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE ENGAGEMENTS

These two are so romantic together and very outdoorsy. They enjoy being together while going on adventures outside they also love to try out new restaurants and bars or stay home to watch a Marvel movie. It was so fun getting to incorporate their personalities into our photos. They wanted to make sure they had a mix of posed portraits as well as portraits that made them feel just like themselves. Heading to the restaurant with them was the perfect way to let them have some fun together to capture it on camera. They love playing Rummy, the card game and it was so fun to incorporate that into the restaurant portion.

WEATHER

I will say that the weather the day of the shoot was less than ideal, but since these guys were so great at being with each other we were able to get lots of variety and several locations despite the poor weather.

Additionally, both of them value travel and each other and the personal growth they have gained through their relationship. I feel like these two will always be exploring the world together and pushing each other to go farther in their careers and in life in general. I’m so excited for them and their lives together!

I’m Kathy – wedding photographer, mom of 1 daughter & 2 doodles, and avid sunset watcher. Once you’ve gotten to know a little more about me, it’ll be my turn to get to know you as too!! When I work with a couple, we usually end up feeling more like old friends by the time your wedding day arrives – which means a more relaxed, enjoyable wedding day experience for everyone. And when it comes to photo style, you’ll find your photos are vibrant and classic, in true-to-life color and timeless black and white. It’s my honor to serve joyful, authentic couples who want their wedding photos to be as timeless as their vows.
