Breweries & Parks | Asheville Engagement Photos

This Fall Engagement Shoot in the Downtown Asheville Brewery District was a perfect casual photo backdrop for this experience loving couple. Lora and Cody  first met in 2014 through an online dating app while both living in the Washington DC area.

Their first date wad originally scheduled for a Wednesday night, but the night before their date Cody texted Lora asking if they could move their date to that night. Lora said her response was “Why did you double book Wednesday?” Cody responded with “No, I am just that excited to meet you…” Cue the aww!

Eventually Lora caved in and agreed to meet him… 5 years later they are getting married!

These two love to travel… Traveling abroad at least once, maybe twice a year. Sometimes even on a whim for just a long weekend! Since they also like to try new foods/experiences, such as taking a cooking class or trying a brewery/winery, I decided to incorporate these experiences into their engagement session.

So we headed to South Slope, Downtown Asheville’s Brewery District, so that Cody and Lora could experience some new breweries and then we headed over to the Botanical Gardens to get a few photos with the beautiful fall colors.

Congratulations Lora & Cody!  We can’t wait for your wedding at Chestnut Ridge!

Meet Kathy

A woman in glasses holding a coffee mug.

I’m Kathy – wedding photographer, mom of 1 daughter & 2 doodles, and avid sunset watcher. Once you’ve gotten to know a little more about me, it’ll be my turn to get to know you as too!! When I work with a couple, we usually end up feeling more like old friends by the time your wedding day arrives – which means a more relaxed, enjoyable wedding day experience for everyone. And when it comes to photo style, you’ll find your photos are vibrant and classic, in true-to-life color and timeless black and white. It’s my honor to serve joyful, authentic couples who want their wedding photos to be as timeless as their vows.
