The Black Balsam Knob trail off of the Blue Ridge Parkway is one of my favorite spots to shoot sessions. Once you see these photos, you’ll see why! Not only does this location offer incredible panoramic views, but the walk through the Balsam fir trees is magical. With the right breeze, you can smell a hint of sweetness from the Balsam needles. So when Katie and Will were willing to head to the trail for their Black Balsam engagement session, I was thrilled! Driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway is one of my favorite things to do. The twisting roads with a canopy of trees hanging above and the countless overlooks make this drive theraputic. I know I’ve said it countless times before, but I love living here!
Katie and Will met back in 2017 at an internship orientation while attending NC State University. Love was in the air because once they started dating, they never looked back. They are such a fun and sweet couple, it was a joy capturing their Black Balsam Engagement session at the top of the mountains. When I asked Katie what she loved about Will, she said she loved his positive outlook, his go-with-the-flow attitude, and his jokes (sometimes 😉). In turn, I asked Will what he loved about Katie, and he said he loved that she is sweet, she is driven, and how she laughs at his jokes. This two are a perfect match, and I can’t wait for their downtown Asheville wedding!
I hope you enjoyed this Black Balsam engagement session. If you want to see another engagement session with incredible views, you’ll love this post!
