If you’re planning a wedding in the Asheville, NC area, you’re in for a treat! This stunning Basilica of St Lawrence wedding, followed by a reception at Chestnut Ridge, made for the perfect combination. I recently had the pleasure of photographing Katie and Zach’s spring destination wedding, and it was truly a joy to be a part of.
Katie and Zach began their day with an emotional exchange of gifts – this was just the beginning of a day of celebration and love. The Basilica of St Lawrence provided a beautiful backdrop for their ceremony, and Zach’s expression when he saw Katie for the first time in her wedding dress was so sweet.
After the ceremony, we took advantage of the gorgeous mountain views for family & wedding party photos at Chestnut Ridge’s stunning location. During the reception Katie and Zach slipped away for a few moments, and we were able to capture some breathtaking photos of them with the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in the background.
Speaking of the reception at Chestnut Ridge – it was a blast! The bridesmaids’ green dresses perfectly matched the springtime colors, and the classic green and white flowers added an elegant touch. Zach’s brother’s heartfelt speech was filled with emotion, and it was clear that the couple was surrounded by people who love and support them. Being a destination wedding, they incorporated a Pittsburgh tradition with a cookie table. This was my first time seeing this and the guests loved it!
Katie and Zach’s first dance was a showstopper, ending with Zach picking up his bride and spinning her around.
The look of surprise and awe on their guests’ faces was priceless, and it was an honor to capture that moment. After dinner, the DJ kept the party going, and everyone hit the dance floor as soon as the first song played.
If you’re planning a wedding in Asheville, NC, I highly recommend considering Chestnut Ridge. With its stunning mountain views, it’s the perfect place to celebrate your love with family and friends. As a wedding photographer, it’s always a pleasure to capture such special moments, and I would be honored to capture yours.
